Digital Life Histories

A major focus of our work has been in the use of digital multimedia to stimulate recall, reminiscence, and social engagement in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). In a first project, we developed and demonstrated the value of an effective method for creating and using multimedia biographies (digital life histories) for AD/MCIindividuals. We are currently exploring various uses of images captured by Microsoft SenseCam, an automatic lifelogging camera, for enhancing recall, reminiscence, and social engagement.
